Hail can take many forms and sizes in many different types of storm systems, but all hail has the potential of being damaging to your property. While large hail can cause damage based merely on its size, small hail can cause damage as well when combined with strong winds.
Hail damage usually resembles little dents or small craters in the roof. Sometimes hail can cause cracks in the shingles if the roof structure was already weak. Usually the best way to identify damage is by looking at an exposed vehicle and at your gutters. Most types of gutters are sensitive to hail and can show you easily if there is damage to your roof without getting up on it. If there are dents in your gutter, there is most likely damage on the roof.
